The relationship between Technology (or Science) and Philosophy used to be indistinguishable. Historically, the philosophers of the past were also the mathematicians, scientists and inventors of the day. How much impact this had we don't know, but we can be sure that many breakthrough discoveries came from the scientist philosopher.
