If culture is a system of signs that is coordinated, interlocking, meanings, labels, and understandings that enable us to live with others and make sense of each other's actions, it is just as essential to understand that culture is not static, it's not a road map or representation of some fixed territory. Culture is recognizable. It is relatively stable, but it is always in flux, simultaneously at one time changing and stable.
