A Geneology of Influence
Thinking back to our conversation on your voice lets develop and identify ways in which your practice builds on a trajectory. What visual tradition are you part or, is this tradition based in aesthetics, process, materials, ideas around scale, the environment, economics, culture. Is there a way to connect aspects of your practice to practitioners that have preceded you or thought leaders who have influenced you. How far can you trace the origins of some of these ideas. What kinds of connections can you build between these references.
You will produce a drawing, map or diagram that visualizes or works to establish a web, through line, alignments or even presents moments of disconnect and contradiction in your thinking, making and aspirations.
